Ride Into The Sun

April news, Hecate Cassette Archive updates, Mothership past jobs + a playlist

Wow, it’s April already! First, some exciting news regarding Hecate Cassette Archive! The finished PDF has been sent to backers, and the zine is off to print. It has been a loooonnnnggg road to get here, and while I wish I had a time machine to do things differently, I’m very happy to finally have it released. It’ll be available both digitally and physically in the near future, and I’ll be sure to let y’all know when that happens.

If you’re in Portland, I’ve got a gig coming up on Thursday, May 1st. I’ll be spinning soul, funk, jazz and a little disco from around the world. It’s always a lush, cozy time there. I’m looking forward to seeing ya.

Onto the TTRPG freebie… I may have been a bit ambitious when I first tasked myself with a free release every month. So, I’m gonna start sharing things that are WIP rather than holding myself to handing out a finished product each update.

I’ve been at work on a set of Mothership past job and background tables based on those in Ruination Pilgrimage (with Donn’s blessing, don’t worry!). The backgrounds are still coming along, but I’m fairly satisfied with the past job table. Each convey an item, bonus skill, +5 to a stat and +5 to save. The idea is to make characters a bit more unique, as well as toughen them up a bit for longer campaigns.

Note that this is very much a WIP. I plan to incorporate a “background” table with some pros/cons, and probably expand these beyond 10 entries for a future release. With that said, I’d welcome any feedback if you use these at your table!

In radio news, Ghost Tropic on XRAY.fm is still going strong. Last night was episode 6! You can stream that episode HERE.

The station is also in the final days of it’s Spring fundraiser. Every dollars helps! You can donate at the link HERE.

Of course, I didn’t forget the monthly playlist. It’s a bit more upbeat than the last. Hope you dig it!

Lastly, I wanted to share again links to review my Mothership releases on Tuesday Knight Games’ storefront. It helps with visibility and personally, I can say I’m much more likely to check out something that has been reviewed. I appreciate anyone who takes time to drop a review:

Okay, that’s it for April barring any big updates on HCA. Until next time…
